I was a little hesitant when peplum made an appearance this spring...I mean, why would I want to add more volume to my hips? But, after a bit of experimenting with various pieces I can't seem to get enough!

Flower Power

Florals are huge for spring, but as someone who is deathly afraid of pattern (exceptions - stripes and polka dots) I was a little hesitant about taking the plunge. I decided to start slow with a floral short....less fabric equals less pattern, right? :) Eventually I'll conquer my fear, but for now this seems like a pretty good start!

Light/Bright

I have no doubt that you will see this dress appear in a few more posts by the end of summer, but here is my first take on styling the LWD (as opposed to LBD) of the season...I love this combo because it easily transitions from day-to-night by just removing the blazer!

I love the element of fun and punk my Converse bring to this otherwise very preppy outfit. And pairing them with neon pink laces keeps them just girly enough for me.

I love getting the chance to go back to Pensacola to spend time with my family. Every time I get home I am immediately reminded of how much I miss living on the coast...the breeze off the Gulf, fresh seafood, old friends, and (of course) the most beautiful beaches in the world! One day I'll move back to the coast, but for now I'll have to savor the few trips a year I get to enjoy it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I have fully embraced color this spring (after a few years of muted tones, I have to say-it's a relief to be back in more vibrant shades!)...I had been lusting after this pair of beautiful green trousers when I came across this drastically more economical version by chance! I quickly snatched them up and never looked back.

Along with half of the female population of the world, Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my all-time favorite movies. The fashion is irresistible and always makes me wish I lived through the 1960's...lucky for me some of the '60's trends seem to be making a comeback! :)

After the insane heat (it's been in the 90s already!) we've been experiencing down here, it was nice to actually be able to wear layers without immediately beginning to "glisten" when I walk outside. I hope the cool temperatures last more than a day! :)
